If you didn’t already know, I’ve occasionally been publishing some of my own music on my own little label called GLISTENING EXAMPLES. To date, there have been three releases on this label in the span of 5 years. It all started with THE PILGRIM in 2006.
I later released a collection of compilation tracks and rarities called THIS IS WHAT I DO – VOLUME ONE in 2011.
Then, last year, GLISTENING EXAMPLES issued a 7″ record with two short compositions by Graham Lambkin and myself. It was the first time that I considered GLISTENING EXAMPLES to be an actual publishing label, as opposed to a exercise in vanity, since I was releasing music by someone other than myself.
In 2013, GLISTENING EXAMPLES will be forging onward as a label since the scope of releases will be growing to include many other artists. Of course, there will still be the occasional record or CD that will be based solely on my own ego/vanity/artistic expression, and I plan to release collaborative recordings that are already in progress. In 2013, I hope to present music by the trio of Nmperign/Jason Lescalleet as well as a Joe Colley/Jason Lescalleet LP.
There are a few other artists that are working on music for GLISTENING EXAMPLES release this year, but I will hold those announcements until the projects have actual release dates.
In the meantime, I want to announce the first GLISTENING EXAMPLES release of 2013 to be an LP by Grisha Shakhnes, called “leave/trace”. I will be announcing pre-order information very soon (for those of you that enjoy the idea of collecting limited edition artworks).
